We all feel the economic crisis to varying degrees, from tightening credit to higher prices to travel restrictions. What we don’t seem to notice is how times like these require BIG ideas more so than in times of economic stability.

I just finished reading an article in U.S. News and World Report available here titled, Is Healthcare Armageddon Next? which talks about the looming financial crisis in Healthcare. Author, Bernadine Healy, M.D., lays out ideas on why the healthcare system is facing a similar fate as the Wall Street collapse.

What the article points to is a system that needs to think in terms of what its purpose really is. Are we all to assume that skyrocketing costs are sustainable and value is equal to the price of outcomes? Surely there are ideas to make the healthcare system work better for all.
